Volleyball

Thursday 2nd August

Today we were off to Earl's Court to see some Volleyball with Grandad and Grandma. The first match was a very exciting and long affair between Serbia (who eventually emerged victorious) and Germany.

Grandma and Grandad joined us and entertained children too.

The second game was a more decisive victory for Bulgaria over Australia. Our picnic today had been prepared by different people and so included salad and fruit! Bonus!

Archie was amused by the binoculars provided.

Before we travelled home we went to an exhibition on the Embankment about the next Olympics in Rio. Particularly interesting was an artistic video about a man digging a hole, chopping a tree down, putting the tree in the hole and then filling the rest of hole with the mud from the original hole. If there wasn't so much Olympics on we might have reflected on the meaning of this slightly more!

Followed by a walk through a park spotting mascots...

The day out finished with another game of (pretend) basketball on the tube home.

The evening was spent decorating a birthday cake for a certain little boy who is 3 tomorrow.
